"Yes I am a Ballroom Dancer! And I am Kind of a Big Deal"
Mary Simler Evans
I am a Dance Enthusiast; not only do I love to dance, to watch dance, to know dancers, but I spend time getting to know Why people dance. Also Why we teach certain techniques, Where dancing developed and How. I like to know what it is that draws people to certain types of dancing. I have spent years teaching Students AND Aspiring Teachers and Learning Myself, from my students, how people learn. I use this knowledge to offer classes that cater to many different types of people, whether your a visual learner, audio, kinesthetic or you just really need some knew ways to relate the move, I will work with you. Many people ask how I started dancing. Well, I began when I was 4 with traditional dance classes in Ballet, Tap and Jazz. I stayed with that into my middle school years when school sports and the school dance team began to take more time than I could give to the studio I was with. When I was 15 a good friend of mine introduced me to Country Dancing, my first introduction to partner dancing, and I was hooked, there was no going back! Later I continued to try some other dance forms, but eventually I found my home in Social Dancing (Swing, Latin and Ballroom). Today I am the proud earner of my Grand Masters Certificate in 12 different dances, my Masters Certificate in 2 dances, and Associate Certificate in many more. I am a certified Judge and National Examiner, helping other teachers around the country to better serve our students. I have now been teaching for 23 years and I couldn't imagine doing anything else.

Outside the Studio
I have an amazing life in and outside of dance. I come from a wonderful supportive family, and have a great partner in my husband Jeff. We enjoy spending time in the studio but also hanging out with our Three Great Kids and our three dogs. Outside of dance my passions include: Health, Wine, Writing, and reading. I also have a strong love for animals and spend lots of time with my three dogs - Tango, Lindy and Bachata. Spending time in my other career of helping people with natural products is a major uplifting part of my days, as it allows me to help people be healthy and live their passions in life! Besides all this, my favorite part of my year is when I travel with my husband and our kids! :)
