I see you! Walking by dance studio's looking in the window to see the action, or pausing on the movies "Shall We Dance", or the Tango scene in "Scent of a Woman". You know who you are, wishing you had the confidence to just jump out on the dance floor with or without a partner, or maybe you're the one hoping to get your partner out there. Join us! Just a "toe in the water" so to speak.
Private Lessons 1. Please come prepared to learn, shoes that stay on your feet, and clothes you can move comfortably in. We recommend layers for cold beginnings and warming up as you dance 2. Teachers do not date students 3.Lessons are for the designated people, lessons are charged for time for up to 3 people, more than 3 changes the status of the lesson 4. Lessons are for the people who booked the lesson, while it is ok to gift your lessons you Must inform the instructor ahead of time 5. Please be on time 6. We do not issue refund but will, in certain circumstances, issue credit
Group Lessons 1. We do not guarantee partners, but we will work to help the class be as even as possible 2. Please treat everyone in the class with respect, we are ALL learning here 3. We do not guarantee rotation of partners- While we Encourage this and do it as Often As Possible, there may be classes where we don't rotate for a number of reasons (i.e. illness, time, teachers sometimes get stuck in helping around the class and forget :), we do NOT force rotation) 4. Please be on time 5. Bring a water bottle and dress appropriately. We do have water available. 6. We do not issue refunds but will issue credit/exchange in certain circumstances 7. Class must have 6 people to run.Classes with less than 6 people will run in the following way: 1-3 people will run 25 minutes; 4-5 people will run 45 minutes. 8. Memberships are for the purchaser only and cannot be shared (if circumstances are such that it must be transferred to a new person, this must be done prior to class times). Classes bought individually or monthly are also for the purchaser but may be transferred to a different person with prior permission.
Dance Parties 1. Please treat everyone with respect, we are all here to learn and to dance and to have fun. Complaints will be taken seriously for all parties involved. We want everyone to feel safe and welcomed. 2. While people do meet each other and romances may happen, Most people are just here for friendship and dancing, please be respectful. 3. Follow Line of Dance for Ballroom Dances, and slot set up for West Coast Swing. Swing dancers stay in center of floor when Ballroom and Swing is combined. 4. Be aware of the other dancers when you dance, if you bump into someone please take a moment to recognize and apologize, then move on. 5. Complimentary drinks or food are at your discretion to take part in. 6. During the party lesson please keep side conversations low so as not to disturb the class trying to concentrate. 7. We do not issue refunds 8. Please have ID for discounts
General 1. We take Cash, Check and Credit Cards, Paypal Tranfers (email@example.com) and the CashApp ($BHAMDANCECO) * please note we do not always have change for cash, we do NOT accept post dated checks 2. Please respect the Teachers time, we allow 5-10 minutes at the end of the class for questions, but teachers must move to the next class, get their quick break between transitions, or be allowed to head home at a reasonable hour, thank you. 3. Please be respectful of teachers and of students, remember this is a close contact sport use deodorant or oils, use mints, just be nice :) Please NO Gum in the Dance Studio. 4. Everyone comes to have fun, if you have a concern please bring it up with our instructors or assistants so we can help as soon as possible. 5. WE respect and protect peoples right to say "No" to dancing if they feel uncomfortable or have other reasons. We Encourage everyone to rotate through the party and to dance with new people, but understand that sometimes someone just isn't comfortable dancing with people they don't know yet. 6. Just as you continue to learn, our teachers continue to learn. Teachers at BDC are required to continue education, become members of the National Dance Council of America and the International Dance Teachers Association. Teachers at BDC are also required to get International Certifications. These begin at Bronze and continue through Gold. We are luck to have 2 adjudicators right here in Bellingham (Nathan Simler, and Mary Simler Evans) Yay BDC Teachers for keepin it real, updated, and professional.
