Also on these cruises were some Bellingham Dancers, Bill Dalzell and Jackie Yeareance, Sandy Pratt, Sue Hamman, Philip Ring, John and Marguerita Connell. Jeff MAtlewsky also has been touring on these dance cruises as a Dance Host with the ladies :). I cannot express how much fun we have. What do you do on a dance cruise? Well... dance of course :) Ok let me give you examples from our most recent cruise.
Make new friends from across the US: People join these cruises from California to New York, Washington to Florida, and all the states in between. This is such a great opportunity to network, make friends and increase your connections in dance across the country. Almost 100% of these dancers belong the national club USA Dance of which we also have a local chapter. These chapters are all across the US and you see them represented on these cruises. Also meet the natioanl president of USA Dance Jean Krupa, and this past cruise also joining us was the Vice President. Jean does such an incredible job of creating time for everyone to get to know each other. Kicking off every cruise with a pre-cruise dance at one of the local clubs in our home port. Then on the first night of the cruise we begin with a cocktail party (cocktails included) to break the ice, followed later that evening with a private dance on board the ship.
Of course there is a lot of dancing offered on the ship, live music in every lounge, dancing in the atrium, up by the pool, and just about everywhere. Yet, that private dance gives us all a moment to really be able to move on the floor, akin with other dancers.
Classes in Dance: 3 instructors join the USA Dance cruise. Our own Mary Simler Evans of course, who focuses on the cruise teaching dances such as West Coast Swing, Salsa, Nightclub Two Step, and Hustle. But also join Dan and Silke Calloway of Washington DC teaching the Smooth, Standard, and Latin dances. Each teacher offers 3-5 casses each day and also offer on board private lessons.
Travel the seas and visit the ports: Each Cruise visits beautiful places such as, Aruba, Curacao, Bahamas, Grand Turks, Puerto Rico, Juneau, Skagway, and Florida.
More Cruises will be set in the future with more opportunity to travel and to dance, two of our favorite things!!
